After my second early-pregnancy spontaneous miscarriage, my doctor told me as kind of an afterthought, that, oh yeah, it's possible one of those babies could have been saved with progesterone. It disturbed me that nobody told me this, especially after the first miscarriage.
Sometimes it's too late to stop an early miscarriage, by the way, esp. if the baby has already died in the womb. But if I'd known there was even a small possibility, I would have asked for a sonogram to see if there was a heartbeat, and then progesterone-and-a-prayer.
