What "bullying"? The proposal to ban male circumcision is contrary to basic principles of religious freedom and deeply offensive to Jews and Muslims. The commandment of brit milah, circumcision on the eighth day, is a fundamental religious rite in Judaism and universally practiced by all families who identify as Jewish across the broad spectrum of practice. Such a ban would mean that no Jewish family could be raised in Iceland, and it is inconceivable that a Jewish community could remain in any country that prohibited brit milah.

*Silly, it is very common for Americans.

I hardly see any evidence of bullying, just that they urge Iceland not to ban circumcision as it is Jewish custom that all males be circumcised. Are you reading more into it than it is? Seems to me you are, as I see no threat whatsoever in the link.
To: Eurotwit
Circumcision either does,or doesn't,have a useful purpose in the practice of medicine. In addition there are religions that see it as important. Unless it can be proven that it's dangerous I can't see banning it.

You would think, in Iceland, there would be a lot of shrinkage.

Be careful with circumcision. I had it done shortly after birth and couldn’t walk for a year!

Making a decision like this for an infant with no way of reversing the procedure is ridiculous
It was done to me as was customary inid 20th century USA but no way was that happening to my children
I seldom ahree with governments but Iceland is right on this one

In the U.S.A., those calling for banning circumcision were a neo-Nazi faction of homo-activists. Their noise was seen a little bit here and there during the late 1990s and early 2000s. The smell of head cheese is foreign to most American men and women.

As I recall, it's been medically verified that non-circumcised males have a statistically significant higher rate of STDs than circumcised males.

It seems there's always one more freaking Nazi.
You obviously don't believe in G-d or His Commandments.

My two cents...
I have a relative who had to have it done as an adult due to it ripping. Having it done as a newborn is far safer and easier on Everyone. And cheaper too.

It’s like making a law saying you must eat pork. Who would do such a thing?
