The Franklin Comes Home by A.A. Hoehling
Excellent book.
Check out his treatment of the Battle Off Samar to be reminded of what balls our forefathers possessed. You also enjoy his treatment of the Russian fleet’s sailing to Japan 1905 as well as French pre dreadnoughts. Don’t know how he has to time to produce so many videos.

Thanks for the link.
I’ve been enjoying watching youtube episodes of Silent Service, about WWII submarine events.
Saw one yesterday that was a the inspiration for the Cary Grant movie where he is the sub commander who rescues a bunch of nurses.
They were made in the late 50’s. Noticed DeForrest Kelly and Leonard Nimoy as characters in some of them.
Thanks for posting, and I wlll check it out...and thank you, Chode, for the ping!
I’ve been subscribed to Drachinifel for ages now. A very good channel for naval history from the age of sail to the end of WW2. I like his sprinkling of understated British humor every now and then to keep it from being overly dry.
I loved his video HMAS Sydney - Legendary fights with angry Australians. Learned a few new things too (one day, the Australian Navy will succeed in shooting down the planet Venus...)
A great many things can be said, but it’s late, so, I’ll summarize:
WOW.
