People smarter than me knew they were going to fall.
I just kept hoping beyond hope.
Worked at Guy Carpenter on the 49th floor of 2 in the late 80s.
Used to just love to look up at them in awe.
Or watch them from outside on the ferry to Staten Island with a beer.
Then they fell and we all called friends or families of friends to see if they were in the building or not.
Then we gave blood.
And then we waited for a justice that never came.
Justice never came. It’s a shame.
