Giants Fan Angry Patriots Signed Antonio Brown Accused Of Making Gillette Stadium Threat

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (CBS) – A New York Giants fan was so angry about the New England Patriots signing Antonio Brown he allegedly issued a threat on Facebook to “shoot up random people” at Gillette Stadium.

Tobias Gray was arrested at his home in East Providence, Rhode Island Sunday. He was handcuffed and wore a Giants jersey and jacket during a court appearance in Providence Monday on unrelated assault charges. The 44-year-old was charged with simple and domestic assault and threatening police officers at the time of his arrest.

Gray is accused of making a threatening post on Facebook over the weekend after the defending Super Bowl champions signed Brown, one of the best and most controversial receivers in the NFL, Saturday.

In the post, Gray allegedly wrote “I’m going to pull a white boys school shooting at Foxboro you might as well hand them the ring right now I’m if I ever get my hands on a gun which I don’t have one yet but I’m looking I will go shoot up random people at Foxboro.”

================================================================

The Facebook post was deleted over the weekend. Gray’s attorney said his client was simply upset the Patriots were able to land Brown and did not mean any harm.

“He just really didn’t get into why, he’s a Giants fan apparently,” his attorney Stefanie DiMaio Larivee said outside court. “He was not happy about it as I can see online many, many fans of many other football teams were not happy about it.”

A judge in Providence called Gray’s record extensive. In the report from the Foxboro Police Department, it was discovered there were pictures of Gray holding guns on Facebook.

Gray is being held until the charges in Foxboro are resolved. He’s charged with a fugitive of justice complaint for making terroristic threats in Massachusetts.

A neighbor told WBZ they often hear Gray arguing with his girlfriend. “Always fighting out here, always going crazy,” said Lucy Camara. “But I never thought he would do that.”

Foxboro Police issued a vague statement on Gray’s case Monday morning before Gray appeared in court.

“Chief (William) Baker has indicated that the Foxborough Police are withholding comment at this time on any specific action our agency may have taken, or may take in the future, in response to the ongoing challenge of malevolent or criminal social media posts,” police said. “In general Chief Baker says the department will respond vigorously and in close collaboration with our local, state and federal partners to take appropriate action as the law allows.”

Gray is expected to be arraigned in Wrentham District Court sometime this week.

There has been no comment yet from the Patriots.

Calling the Raiders GM a ‘Cracker’ didn’t help....................

If your goal was to get cut then it probably did. Brown wanted out of Pittsburg but I doubt the Raiders were his first choice for a new home. He may well have worked out a deal with the Pats that if he could get out of Oakland then Belichick would immediately grab him. Sounds like the kind of deal Belichick would sign on to.

YEP!...................or a Bills..............

Hey, quiet! Bills fans can deal with hard times. Four straight Super Bowl losses and nobody got hurt.

Q. What is the difference between a Buffalo Bill and a dollar bill?
A. You get 4 quarters out of a dollar bill

I don’t pay attention any more, but a golf buddy does. When the news broke Saturday morning that he went to Instagram asking to be released from Oakland, my buddy immediately commented: “he has a contract from NE in his hand right now. If he gets released he’ll be playing for NE before the day is done”.

A few hours later, that news broke.

A.B. in the stupid category...

Seems to me, in the end, A.B. was as "dumb as a fox".

But why didn’t just go to the Pats in the first place?

Now the Raiders have $30M off the salary cap they can use..............

No much of a feetsball fan. Did follow the Giants in my Ute. From the Polo Grounds to Yankee stadium to eventually Joisey.

More of a Beisbol fan. Followed my Yankees since the 50s from my then home in the Bronx. They always played at home in Yankee Stadium ( cept for 2 years in the 70s during renovation). I do believe a Stadium should be named for the principle team. But I realize that many small market teams need the funds to help stay afloat.
I do not believe the Pats should be considered a small market team.

But why didn’t just go to the Pats in the first place?

Because the Steelers traded him to the Raiders. Got a third and a fifth round pick for him. Pittsburgh also agreed to eat part of the Brown contract but now they don't have to worry about that.

Many times the stadium is owned by the city, or county, or a university so the teams don’t get any of the dough.................

If it's all a brilliant conspiracy it's the brainchild of Drew Rosenhaus, his agent.

Ok, maybe I could see a Steelers or Raiders fan being upset about it, but a Giants fan?

I'm a Stillers fan, {saw my first game in 1951 at Forbes Field} and couldn't give a fat rat's ass that brown is gone.

The Steelers have 6 Super Bowl Rings, and brown has ZERO.

Brown is a talent, but he forgot that football is a team sport, not a "record breaking sport".

If Coach Bill can get can get more out of brown than the Steeler mook did, then he is a better coach than micky tomkins, err mike tomain, whatever.

Tomlin is the worst coach to ever win a Super Bowl, and I contend he should have won at least 3, probably 4.

He doesn't know how many seconds are in the last two minutes, and has no clue on how to use the clock.
