The prospect of asteroids hitting the earth is just a matter of when and how big. Some people scoff at these things. So be it.
Doesnt sound like it actually smashed into the Caribbean.
It’s prophesied in the book of Revelation. It’s GOING to happen.
We wouldn't do anything with small ones like this, but if it was a large one detected early enough, we might be able to steer it away or slow it so that it's trajectory no longer intersected with Earths orbit. Otherwise...
That was a movie, not reality. We can’t even get our astronauts to the ISS, without the Soviets.
No worries... The government will protect us... /s

No, muslim outreach was the priority... because you cannot divert $ to muslims by deflecting asteroids... BHO said something like that a few years ago
It was an asteroid before it became a Meteor.
“I think its best classified as a meteorite. Check this out:”
Please provide the definition of meteorite and make your case that it was a meteorite!
True.
There was talk of a possibility that the tunguska event was a larger than normal geminid meteoroid. (I’m not certain of this myself.)
But meteor shower streams would make it difficult to spot anything large enough to be a danger.
Like spotting one car inside a bunch of other cars driving towards you head on.

I think I did. Did you look at the link I included in my last post?
“They are still working off the backload of Muslim science assistance issues.”
Ya beat me.

Please cite the definition if a meteorite and make your case that it was a meteorite.

Haha. Please take a hike and do your own homework.

I checked it out. It was not a meteorite.
Remains of Tiamat.

I did my homework. It was not a meteorite.

Interesting points I had not fully considered. Thanks. They still haven’t figured out what the tunguska event was all about.
We have no program to do that and neither do any other nations.
