In the 1980s, I wove fabric and turned it into clothing. I made many simple styles that were easily adjusted to various sizes.

One customer said to me:”Why don’t more designers make clothes for big women? After all, we have all the money.”

That said, I don’t recall _that_ many really large women.

And sizing has long been fungible. I sold retail clothing during high school and college (1960s). We were advised to switch tags to a smaller size if that’s what it took to make the sale.
