In my younger days, I couldn’t stand to eat mashed potatoes. They would make my stomach contract as if I was about to vomit (but I never did). And yes, it was their texture that did it. I still hate them to this day, but there’s no one forcing me to eat them.

For me it was okay to eat mashed potatoes UNTIL or IF I hit one lump. At that point, then yes, I was in near vomit mode. Fortunately as I’ve aged I slowly overcame that reaction. Have no idea where it originated.

Yet to this day I prefer virtually any other style of potato over mashed.

When I hosted Thanksgiving or Christmas I always prepared parsleyed potatoes in olive oil and butter. YUM!
