Luke’s training on Dagobah (sp?) was a quick hit bootcamp, and yes there was a training aspect, but much of Yoda’s focus was on Luke’s focus and equilibrium, which was obviously way too short. I think implied in all that, and even moreso in Episode 1 with Anakin, is that having the ‘bloodline’ (or the midichrolians heh) is far more important, because you get the awareness, foresight, and reaction speed. Even if she wasn’t trained on a laser sword, Rey was already very deft and dexterous from her time surviving and scavenging on Tatooine.

Our entire family have been life-long STAR WARS fans for decades. I saw the original first movie 25 times an every SW movie since.

Until Kathleen Kennedy, Rain Man Johnson, and DisneyRAT destroyed and murdered the franchise with their own perverted, SJW racist, anti-white people, anti-w h i t e MALE, PC Pink hands.

Haven’t seen one since, haven’t spent a penny more on SW merchandise, and never will.

But Yoda was insistent (in Empire Strikes Back) that only a fully trained Jedi could face Vader (another fully trained Jedi). So what happened after Luke ignored Yoda's warning? He got his ass whipped and his right hand cut off. And that was already after a lot of training.

On the other hand, Rey was able to kick the crap out of seasoned Jedi warriors, could use the "Jedi mind trick" instinctively somehow, and just about everything else a fully trained Jedi could do with little or no training. So this basically negates every Star Wars movie up until then.

And by the way, I don't like the term 'laser sword'. A laser is invisible, doesn't just stop at a certain length, and can't block another laser because it doesn't follow the Pauli exclusion principal. Adding science to space fantasy makes it bad science fantasy.
