These were pre-med students in the main. I looked toward the professor, expecting some sort of rebuttal. He just smiled, and nodded in agreement.
That was in 1978.

I used to live next door to a lady with Down’s syndrome. She once mentioned that while some degree of mental retardation was typical in Down’s syndrome patients, which can be quite mild to quite severe, not all victims were intellectually impaired. She clearly was of above average intelligence but otherwise, she had the typical stigmata of Down’s.
