Police Chief Deanna Cantrell had left her personal handgun in a restaurant bathroom July 10. She was disciplined but kept her job.
Cantrell left her Glock .380 in an El Pollo Loco but quickly announced it was missing via a YouTube video. Mangans brother-in-law saw social media postings and told authorities he believed Mangan had the weapon.

For what? Cleaning up the bathroom, Securing an loose firearm?
Those are worthy citizen activities.
Meanwhile the Chief has illegally transferred her firearm.
Bad Fed Juju and really bad Calif Juju
If I found a firearm in the bathroom I would secure it, but I would not just take it and keep quiet about it.
Calling the police at min and giving it to them would be the wisest move I think.
Police Chief Deanna Cantrell should be terminated.
Forgetting your firearm in the potty is a serious error.
Hasseling the fellow who found only compounds the bad acts of Cantrell.
This is the problem. The rest is noise.
One should not even touch the firearm. It could have been used in the commission of a crime and have latent finger prints or DNA on it. Just call the police, tell them about the gun, and do not allow anyone in the bathroom until the police arrive and properly secure the gun as evidence.
During a lunch break at El Pollo Loco in SLO on July 10, Cantrell used a gender-neutral restroom and left her gun behind in it.
“Chief Deanna:”
Thanks, that answers why she kept her job.
Hope she
Washed Her Hands!
The Crazy Chicken.
Probably checked his voter registration first and found he was a solid commie and thus wouldn’t won’t to take away a vote for a commie.
Seesh, one can never know where that gun has been!
Once again proves the adage that the police are the only ones to be trusted with firearms is BS. I wonder how many cops per year misplace their service weapons. I also wonder why a cop was carrying a .380, it lacks stopping power unless you hit dead center mass.
“Calling the police at min and giving it to them would be the wisest move I think.”
Cops want us to do that because it never happened.
Leaving a loaded firearm in a public bathroom ought to be a felony. She put children in danger. Oops, never mind oh, I forgot she was a lefty. She was probably stressed out and triggered by Donald Trump occupying the White House
Threatening the man who found it with charges is simply trying to deflect the reality that a kid could have walked into that bathroom and picked up the gun. But I guess that doesn’t count with an affirmative action police chief. Appointed no doubt.
Mangan could have been charged with a misdemeanor...
You mean theres no Finders keepers, losers weepers law in California?
My only question now is........was the gun left in the Mens or Ladies room??
Finally, a gun that is really eligible for a buyback.
Amen.
