I watch the Hail Flutie game from start to finish. Both teams left everything on the field. I remember Miami RB Melvin Bratton steamrolled over the BC defense and scored several TDs on the dive play.
A very wild game with an amazing finish was Colorado @ Michigan. Colorado at that time was loaded with NFL talent including QB Kordell Stewart and WR Michael Westbrook. Stewart won the game on a Hail Mary from long distance.
There was the #1 v. #2 The Game in 2006. That game lived up to the hype. There was talk both teams should play again for the title but Florida got the shot and punched THE Ohio State University in the mouth.
Wvu was not overrated in 1988. They were picked to play for the title by Beano cook before the season started. Most forget that the star player Major Harris the qb went down with a separated shoulder in the first drive of the game after a late hit.
Had Harris not been injured that game probably would have had a different result. Besides all of that why would miami deserve a second chance? Getting a second chance when another team is undefeated is ridiculous.

I remember just before Miami scored their last touchdown they called time out and Bernie Kosar headed to the sideline. Not knowing, or caring, that a camera was pointed at him Bernie was very clear when he said “Lets play football, ram it down their F’n throats”.
My dad and I became Kosar fans that day. My dad traveled to Cleveland three times over Bernie’s career to watch him play.
