Maybe it’s from a Chinese monopoly set. The Chinese characters probably say “not legal tender”.
The oriental markings should be a dead give away.
When my son was in high school, he and a buddy of his did grounds maintenance work at a golf course. They also subbed in for breaks in the small “pro shop”. Turns out someone passed counterfeit 20’s at the pro shop. The boys were intensely questioned/investigated by the Secret Service. Probably a good thing, as it certainly got their attention and they came to see the seriousness of the situation.
Real $100 bills are practically counterfeit with the way a decade of quantitative easing and low rates have devalued the dollar. :)
