The neighbor was in a tough spot but he did the right thing regarding a statement. He said the teen was running at him and then he refused to say anymore. He got arrested, but it was a smart decision.
In a sane world the neighbor would get a reward for his good deed.
And, it’s quite possibly a true statement.
If the “teen” was not shot in his side or in his back, the Neighbor’s statement should ring true.
As a Cop friend of my Brother told him years ago, the only thing you tell the Investigators is “I was in fear for my life”, and stick to it.
