Marvel Studios has announced that actress Natalie Portman will take up the hammer and replace Chris Hemsworth as Thor God of Thunder.
Portman, who played Thors love interest Jane Foster in the first Thor film, has kept herself at arms length from the Marvel Cinematic Universe since her debut in 2011. Disney owns Marvel Studios. She has been so skittish about returning to the MCU that filmmakers had to use old footage and special effects to add her to the flashback scenes in its Summer blockbuster Avengers: Endgame.
But at San Diegos famed Comic Con this weekend, Marvel Studios announced that Portman will return to the MCU for the next Thor movie and she will be replacing Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder.
As the Associated Press noted, Portman, who played Jane in the first two Thor films, will be remerging as the female Thor. She ran out on stage to thunderous applause and accepted the hammer from a kneeling Taika Waitit. According to the casting list, Hemsworth will appear and star in Thor 4.
That was far from the only news announced during the Marvel panel at Comic Con. Also announced is that MCUs first officially gay superhero will be affirmed. The character, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), has already been seen on the screen but will be confirmed as gay in an upcoming film.
In other gender-swapping movie news, EON Productions announced this month that the next 007 Spy will be portrayed by a black female.

The idiots on IMDB are saying that’s a pic of Brie Larson.

Female Thor = thot
Female Thor = Thorette
“Thor” will become the next “re-made, re-cast, re-invented movie to be politically correct” movie that I will not see.
Agree about Ragnarok. Hemsworth as Thor really developed a comedic character. In fact, in “Endgame,” I thought they tried too hard to make Starlord and Thor have comedic conflict. They kinda screwed up Starlord’s character after GoftheG 1.

They're not joking. There's no ironic tone there at all.
The gulag system and Hollywood:
Both conceived and run by the SAME PEOPLE.
“Its not creative or movie genius to change male characters to female ones. Its blase.”
Why can’t they come up something creative such as a middle aged female sending out her cats with supper powers to save the world?
In Norse mythology, a valkyrie is a supernatural female figure choosing the fate of warriors in battle.
“Ride of the Valkyries” sort of thing.
When did it become a proper name?
They’re just catering to the chronic masturbater comic book crowd.
As Dirty Harry would say:
....”well that’s very stylish.”
Or simply...”swell”
“I thought they tried too hard to make Starlord and Thor have comedic conflict.”
Good point...although I did like the line about the Asgardians of the Galaxy.
Stupid.
Stupid.

Stupid..........................
Disney owns Marvel now, so this is what they do with it...........PC Crap..................
I stopped reading comics before they started printing them on acid-free white paper, so I missed "Girl Thor". However, I do remember in the old Thor comics that when Thor "dumped" Jane Foster it was after Odin finally gave Thor approval to marry her if she passed certain tests in order to become one of the gods. She failed, and the relationship ended, and they wrote her out of the comic.
Just as there was a point whre I lost interest in comics, I have reached that point with the MCU. I'll pass on the upcoming gay/feminist MCU. As far as I am concerned, Endgame was the endgame.
Well that’s the end of that for me, I am sick and tired of all this crap.
I love how Thor kept calling Rocket “Rabbit.”
Call me sexist, I have no interested in seeing a female Thor.
In comics, nobody's dead forever, except Uncle Ben and Bruce Wayne's parents.Umm, about that...
