Alaskan moose chills out next to sprinkler during record heat wave

If you're trying to beat the heat, there's always air conditioners, ice cream, and ceiling fans. Sometimes, animals have to get a bit creative.

A video surfaced this weekend of a moose in Anchorage, Alaska just chilling next to an oscillating sprinkler. According to the video's description the moose was "sprinkler hopping from yard to yard" before finally settling down, staying hydrated and getting in a nice soak.

Alaska is in the midst of a record heat wave, with temperatures hitting the 90s earlier this week. Not only is this a 30-year high, but normal temperatures this time of year in Anchorage usually range in the 60s, according to NOAA.

While that adorable moose might look refreshed, let this stand as a reminder that this is not normal. We should be keeping a close eye on how global warming trends affect our everyday lives.

Cool! I haven’t seen any of ‘em up here in a couple of years. They are fun to watch cruise around.....from inside. Outside you never know what they are going to do. Wild animals and all that after all!

"Not only is this a 30-year high...…..">/I>

Meaning, that it was just as hot, but not hotter, 30 years ago. That simply proves that there is no global warming.

Write some neat article about a moose sitting next to a sprinkler, only to ruin it with leftist BS.

They should be okay, as long as they don’t give the moose a muffin.

Right. What the article didn’t say was “hottest temps ever”.

Fake Weather.

If you look at the true Anchorage temperatures this week, the highest is in the mid 70s on Monday, and most of the highs are in the 60s.

Research “historical heat waves” for your liberal global warming advocate friends...learn them that heat waves have been happening for 100s of years, if not thousands.

The greatest heat wave ever has been the one since the last ice age...at least we now have readily available natural gas generated electricity for our A/C so less die.

I guess Berkley will be sweltering in the future now that they have banned natural gas....evidently we use it for 47% of our electric generation here in Ca. stupid ideas = stupid prizes.

Not to mention that temps for
Anchorage are taken at the airport
which at present, is undrgoing
major runway repair and widening.
Adding more concrete/asphalt. A
giant heatsoak which will surely
affect ground temperature readings.

This was a couple weeks ago and i happen to live in Wasilla, it was over 90F several times that week. Anchorage is cooler. All fans sold out at stores, we don’t have AC for an obvious reason as it usually doesn’t get over 80f and thats just for the hottest part of summer here which is only a few weeks long.
Yes it was hot! Record breaking, we left work at noon, too hot for us to work outside. I have lived here since 1992 and its never been this warm and for longer than a couple of weeks, and also no rain at all.
There is definitely a weather pattern change going on.
