UCLA freshman LiAngelo Ball and his Bruins teammates are in Hangzhou, China to play Georgia Tech in the team’s season-opener this Friday—except Ball, along with fellow freshmen Cody Riley and Jalen Hill, will probably miss the game. In fact, they might miss other Bruins games when the team returns home to the States. And it won’t be because these players suffered injuries or illness. It will be because they are still in China—and possibly in a Chinese jail.
The three players were arrested on Tuesday for shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton store.

The Bruins were eliminated in the Sweet 16, losing 86–75 to Kentucky. Ball had 10 points, eight assists, and four turnovers in the loss, while Wildcats point guard De’Aaron Fox scored 39 points for an NCAA tournament freshman record.
I truly loved that. Fox took it personally!

The further Lo gets away from his dad, the better for him. If Lo had told his dad to STFU and stop talking about his role with the Lakers, he might still be there. Lo Ball actually improved quite a bit in his second year. There is no question about his ability to see the court and find open teammates.

Some of my co-workers argued with me about this, but I said all along, he would never be successful in this and he would drag all his sons down with him, if they don’t get away.
