If an alien race is advanced enough to overcome relativity, they have the means to end human life on Earth anytime they choose. There is no reason to destroy a perfectly useful planet such as Earth to get rid of the ‘plague of humankind’. Satan has wanted to destroy a portion of humanity for longer than I could surmise, and God has not allowed it. There is a transformative moment coming which will change everything, albeit ‘aliens’ might be an excuse for the ones not snatched away.

Yes, I believe this will be their "plausible theory" as to what just happened. Nothing else will seem to make sense.

As an aside, this is yet another reason I reject mid- and post- because while you may not be able to calculate the hour, you could come pretty close to calculating the day.
