This would be so California-hilarious if it didn’t affect the health of millions of its citizens.

Statistics show that after some years of improvement, mainly nationally, air in the country’s capital of smog, Los Angeles, is deteriorating again. Los Angeles has chronically been the worst place for childhood asthma too.

The article cites the oxygen production from a lawn, but the pollution complaint is about smog, particulates. There’s no reason to think that a lawn does anything about particulates. Those are mostly from automobiles. It’s a dumb article.

Uh, will they give me some? I’m within 10 miles of the state line and tore out the back last summer and the front is going this year. But, not for their reasons. For mine. Quit feeding the bunnies and spending so much to water their feeding sites. Then again with approx 11 years left, why bother? Happy 4th of July. Be safe, be sober.

That's right. Water is not lost, it can be cleansed and re-used indefinitely.
That's what happens in nature.
Sure, a given river or water processing plant of course has finite capacity but with all the tax the Californians are paying, they really could and should build enough desalination plants to provide all the water the people need.
(We wouldn't want all the poor illegal immigrants to have to drink out of the toilet now, would we?)

Dust. Dry lawns get dusty and that contributes to particulates. Especially whe you park your cars in the lawn.

I don't know if we have zoysia here in Phoenix, but we haven't had rain in two months, it's been 100+ degrees, I use a string trimmer, and spray with Roundup type stuff, and STILL can't keep it from growing between the rocks.

Family members have grass allergies, so I LIKE the idea of getting rid of that stuff.
