Today is U.S. Womens National Team (USWNT) player Alex Morgans birthday, but the celebration shell remember most about this particular birthday has nothing to do with her age.
The USWNT was in a tense and hard-fought contest with England on Tuesday afternoon at the Womens World Cup semi final in France. When all of a sudden, Morgan broke through the English defense and used a brilliant header to put the ball into the back of the net.
The goal would have been good enough, but the trolling of England with the tea sip celebration complete with upturned pinky, took things to another level.

I know why at least one isn't popular. But I'm not condemning the team for the opinions of one of the players.

Shades of The Ugly American, replete with knobby knees...
Alex Morgan has refused a White House visit. That’s pretty snotty and is why she doesn’t have many fans around here. You knew you were going to annoy the forum by preemptively jumping to her defense.
And then you compound the annoyance by comparing her to Trump, the very target of her snottiness.
It’s like there’s something wrong with your basic wiring. Are you sure you’re on the right forum?
No
I played basketball with ghetto Blacks all the time. I never acted like them in response. Having class, one doesn’t sink to another’s level.
The "Ugly American" was a hero....but I'm sure you read the book and know that.
What is a “soccer”?
I’ve not jumped to any individuals defense. I defend Team USA. I have many dislike for several of the individuals on that team. But I root for the team. I seperate my dislikes of individuals on the team to root for Team USA. I don’t care if I hated every individual on that team, they’re not going to force me to root against any Team USA, ever. I will always root for every Team USA, even if they’re total losers like the men’s soccer team that never wins anything except friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago.
Uh oh, that sorta looks like a White Power “Okay” sign.
Looks like she is smoking a joint.
I really hate hot-dogging in sports.
So? Larry Bird refused to participate in a visit to the White House when Reagan was president. Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick, and Tony Stewart are three NASCAR standouts who refused an invite from Obama. Albert Pujols, Tony LaRussa also refused an invite to the White House with the champion Cardinals. The Ryder Cup team in 1993 refused an invitation by Clinton. Tom Brady has snubbed both Trump and Obama so I imagine feelings about him are mixed.
And then you compound the annoyance by comparing her to Trump, the very target of her snottiness.
I merely pointed out that a lot of winners troll their opponents. It's an attempt to get into their heads and throw their game off. It works a lot of the time.
So you’re good with her White House refusal then?
Same here!
Hate it!
So many people here are cool with shows how far the concept of sportsmanship has slipped.
What would Lombardi say?
This England player does this after every goal - it’s a tribute to another player. Had nothing to do with trolling the USA.

The gesture by Morgan was just classless, it was a specifically mocking her opponent.
Are we sure she isn’t smoking a joint?
I think it's mildly amusing that she refused the invitation before any invitation was extended but other than that I don't really care about her refusal. Or the Sacramento Kings refusal. Or any of the other athletes who have refused to meet with presidents of either party over the years. I'm not their mother.
Stay classy, Alex.
