U.S. armed forces have been at war for 18 consecutive years, and there are thousands of steel d*ck killers in the active and reserve/Guard components with whom nobody should tangle. Because our military is way too small, they also are exhausted from too many deployments, and the weapons systems and equipment they use are full of tired iron.
National security strategy until the fall of the Berlin Wall was to be able to wage and win two wars simultaneously, similar to defeating the Axis powers in WWII. Then as we began rapidly downsizing after Gulf War I, it became the ability to win two major regional conflicts at the same time. Now it’s to win one MRC and hold the fort against a second until we can mobilize additional forces.
Planners and generals/admirals no longer talk about winning conflicts, the speak of “accepting risk” for the sorry state of our military’s size and readiness. And that’s all bullsh*t. We spend something less than 4% of GDP on defense; it was worse under Obama, Clinton, and both Bushes. It even was heading in the wrong direction in the latter part of the Reagan administration. As a result, we’ve reduced our active component by more than half, skipped generations of technology development & acquisition, and created a puny Navy (fewer than 300 ships) and Air Force (less than 75 sixty+ year old B-52s and only a handful of B-1s & B-2s).
Trump is trying to reverse the trend, but much more is needed, and quickly. The smallest unit of our two worst adversaries, Red China and North Korea, is the horde, and because of all the IP theft and forced technology transfers, these Commie countries have increasingly lethal systems, and much more of everything than do we.
Pray for the safety of our nation, and that no Regressive Socialist ‘RAT ever again occupies the White House.

The whole time they were yelling and taunting us, I played with them and laughed at them which pissed them off. :)
