And if you painted it black it would be hotter.

I dont get what a random roof temp has to do with anything.

Actually there have been extensive studies on membrane roof colors for buildings and the effects, if any, on temperature differentials. The conclusion was that color was insignificant in roof temperature. More importantly was material. I realize this is counterintuitive to most folks thinking that black will absorb while white would reflect the heat. Anyhow, that’s for buildings.
