I rather doubt the right side of that graphic is true. People are generally good judges of their own looks and personality and know they can’t set their sights too high. When you get shot down several times for trying to go too high, you realize you just need to aim a bit lower. Or at least knock back a few more beers to get the goggles to kick in.
Are we supposed to believe that human nature has changed that much?
Explanation of the graphic:
On the left side, men would be willing to go with women at their level of desirability, or at most two levels lower.
On the right side, women desire top-level men. Average to low level women want high-level men, and would rather be single than “settle” for men from their own level.
