Aircraft with take off/landing lights on.

When in Savannah, my astronomy club would would go out to the beach for programs out on the pier. If you looked south, you could see the planes taking off from Jacksonville, about 120 miles south. They would disappear about 5 minutes after they got over the horizon, then about 20 minutes later, they would fly over.

Could also be sounding balloons catching the last of the sunlight at high altitude.
Fairly common.

i lived on an air force base for years...this was at high altitude and had characteristics of a satellite. what got me was how bright they were...so obvious in the sky and moving slowly, then fading. these were not airplanes...no doubt.
