She burned herself.
An Oklahoma woman was arrested for setting fire to her neighbors abandoned home after she was caught by her own surveillance camera in the act.
Del City resident Annie Durham, 59, has been charged with second-degree arson in connection with the fire that was started on June 10.
She caught herself on camera setting the fire, Del City Fire Chief Brandon Pursell told KFOR.
Investigators set their sights on Durham after finding out about the feud that she had with her neighbor. They would notice the surveillance cameras that she had and received permission to look at the footage.
Durham could be seen throwing something over her fence at the neighbors home.
"It's not a Molotov cocktail, but it's a stick with a rag or towel wrapped around it," Pursell told KFOR. "It had some lighter fluid poured on it."
Durham actually spoke with the station on June 10 after the fire was put out: All I know is I was in the house, and I saw smoke but I was like, OK, maybe everything is OK. They will put it out or whatever.
Neighbors told KFOR that the burned home had been a haven for drug addicts and vagrants, and that police had made multiple visits there. However, Pursell said the fire placed his squad at great harm.
We understand the neighborhood dispute, but you definitely dont resort to fire as a means of conflict resolution, he told the station.

I guess she forgot that she had surveillance cameras. hahahaha

Hey new reporter, I think it is called arson.
Evidently, you also cant resort to police either.
Word to the wise: If you are gonna do bad stuff, assume there are cameras and do what you have to do to mitigate. I’m personally a fan of a logger’s shirt with a pillow for a stomach, an “odd” walk, and a fake beard and baseball cap.
But to each his own.
And if it’s YOUR camera, you might want to turn it off. In fact, do the disguise thing and shoot a paint ball at it so they “know” it’s not you. :D
Frankly, I’ve often wondered why anarchists on bicycles don’t go around shooting paint balls at traffic cameras.
Maybe she thought the Race Card and the P-Pass would keep her out of trouble.
It looks like the neighbor’s house has a brick exterior.
First rule of criminal activity: Never give the police permission to search for evidence that could be used against you.
“Neighbors told KFOR that the burned home had been a haven for drug addicts and vagrants, and that police had made multiple visits there. “
It’s possible that she saved some lives by what she did, as stupidly as she did it.
.... and turn off the phone.
On Forensic Files, one man actually answered his damn phone right after he murdered his wife.
I’m telling you I wasn’t there. Yeah, well, your phone says otherwise.
He drove to a remote location and was burying her when he answered the phone.
Once her body was discovered, he was sunk.
Crazy. She deserved it.
Evidently, you also cant resort to police either.
A point lost on many here at FR.
Her first mistake was carrying out her plan in full daylight. Bright green shirt? Black ball cap? Duh. Even without the camera she could have been seen by other neighbors.
I understand I’ll be in the minority here, but I feel sorry for her. Yes, she made a terrible mistake, committed the crime of arson. But just think: She’s likely otherwise a decent woman just living her life, but burdened with an abandoned nuisance structure next door. All her neighbors say the same thing, that it was a haven for trespassing, crime and drug use, and the local cops wouldn’t lift a finger. (Don’t get me started on the cops . . . Notice the police spokesman was worried only for the safety of his officers.) Fed up, she took matters into her own hands in the worst possible way. I hope she’s treated with lenience.
I can’t disagree with you. Unless this woman has some serious impulse control issues (and maybe she does, it sounds like she was pushed to the limit by what was happening next door to her.
The police weren’t doing anything. Whoever ultimately owned the property wasn’t doing anything. The city wasn’t doing anything.
I can easily see this type of thing happening more and more.
btt
Haha .. modern criminals are so dumb.
She has a surveillance system, yet uses the old torch trick for arson!
