"Impeachment" is a political process, not a criminal process. "Impeachment" is not removal from office e.g., Bill Clinton.

Congress has the authority to impeach but then only the Senate can remove from office following a Senate trial. The Senate would need to prove the President is guilty of Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors - as specified in Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution.

I don't see our President being removed from office by any sane politician. Democrats & republicans understand that Congress' attempt to remove an innocent sitting President would have grave repercussions.
