Riva had its values too. If you could tolerate a falling apart cheap interior and keep the rust away it was among few cars capable to run over 150k miles on two sets of plugs and three oil changes. Then you could rebuild the engine under $200 in parts and maybe 6 hours of labor and make another 150k miles.
When they were still common and everytime there was some major flood in Germany nine in ten cars you have seen on road a day after were Rivas and everything else was towed to scrap yards in the background.
