This is what I think about when 'manure spreader is mentioned. It's old school. Supposed to be pulled by a tean of mules.
Our father used it to fertilize our rather large garden(more a field than a 'garden)
He hitched it up to our Massey Ferguson tractor and let her go.
Well it worked... all too well. The back of our father's head and much of the traitor was covered with composted manure. He had it in second gear, high.
Did I mention it's originally pulled by mules?
He finished spreading the garden in 1st gear, low. Us kids got a kick reminding our father this.
