confers I thought he finally got drummed out
As crazy as Nancy appears to be, there is still some semblance of sanity. Impeachment would leave the Democrat in ruins and she’s smart enough to figure that out.
The lunatics on the left will never give up... Then again, they still think Al Gore won the Presidency.
If Pelosi was really intent on quashing impeachment talk, she would rein in the “Two Capos of the Apocalypse,” Nadless and $hitt!
“I don’t trust Pelosi as far as I can throw Nadler.”
I’ve never met anyone who liked “Throwing $hit!”
She is losing it physically and maybe mentally, but her political instincts are still sharp.
= = =
Her demon hasn’t departed yet.
Agreed.
It will be their best, if not only chance to knock him out any R primaries.
They are generating witnesses and evidence as we speak and will drag it out to the general election if necessary. Pelosi knows full well it is a matter of timing and doesn't plan to begin too soon.
“She is smart enough to see they dont have the votes.
Maybe the Republicans should push it for a vote. How would that play out? Good or bad strategy?”
They don’t even have the votes in the US House, though Dim controlled.
And Republicans SHOULD drive home the reality by obtaining 100 signatures on a discharge petition, FORCING a vote on the floor.
The timing she's looking for is the time that she has the 218 votes on the House floor needed to impeach the President. Presently she has at most 40, no more. If she had 218, the vote would have happened already. If Nadler's committee were to vote out Articles of Impeachment and she didn't hold a floor vote on them due to lack of yes votes, she would loose her Speakership. If she did hold a vote she would loose so embarrassingly she would loose her Speakership when the Dems loose the House in 2020. There will be no impeachment of President Donald J. Trump.
Trump doesn't need discovery. He just needs to declassify what he's already discovered.
An impeachment trial gives him the forum he needs to capture the attention of the American people and present the truth of how he was a victim of an attempted coup by putting the evidence on display. That is why an impeachment trial will never happen. She doesn't have the floor votes required. And furthermore, the last thing that Pelosi wants to do is to let him show America just how persecuted he's been for the last 36 months and an impeachment trial would turn him into a sympathetic figure, especially given the "no collusion, no obstruction" clean bill of health he received from the Muller report.
Drops the hammer?
After hitting her thumb.
What would they be voting on? No Articles of Impeachment have been configured by Nadler's committee. And I bet the reason they haven't been is that he's scared of what you just said.
At the end of the day, there will be no impeachment of President Donald J. Trump.
They could introduce a bill to impeach, and then sign the discharge petition.
List obstruction of justice as an article, of collaboration with a US enemy, or farting in church.
The articles do not matter. The vote matters.
As politely as possible I will say you are missing the point.
Based on what we think we know at the moment, Pelosi may realize she doesn't have a majority vote of the House for impeachment; however, she does not need that vote for the scheme I envision. Note my post says nothing about a vote.
The timing I refer to is a product of the limited number of days she can spend entertaining the MSM with House proceedings similar in the style of the Ballsy Ford episode. Nadler and his committee will open the door for her in that regard.
Her start date would be the first of the days necessary for witnesses, arguments and whatever else she can generate that would be reasonably relevant and capture the concern of the public. Her completion date would be as close as possible to any R primaries with a backup plan for the presidential election, if necessary.
We do agree on one thing, based on what we know today Trump will not be removed based on impeachment.
The problem is the Republicans in Congress are worthless. We need a new party.
