I watched that show. And I’m a big Tucker fan. But last night he just went way too far off the farm.
I think Tucker’s heart is in the right place. He’s a big Trump supporter. But apparently he really doesn’t understand free market principles. Here is my simple summary of what Free Markets are:
Free Markets are not perfect and never will be.
All other market solutions are much worse.
With Free Markets there is some bad mixed in with the good. Mess with it and Big Brother will be right there to give you a hand.
Tucker lost a point or two with me last night. I’m still a supporter but I hope someone teaches him a little economics.
But when one side isn’t playing fairly, you have to use every weapon in your arsenal to get bring them around.
I believe that’s what Trump uses tariffs for.
You are wrong, Free markets cannot happen between nations. Free markets would be the best policy, if we judge best by the same scale as pure communism being the best. Both can never be, both are horrible policies because they can never be. There simply is no such thing as a free market.
You have unequal money policies, unequal labor laws, unequal pay, and state supported businesses. How could Boeing compete on an even field with Airbus without subsidies, or tax breaks from States, cities, counties or the Feds? They cannot, so even Boeing is not an example of free trade.
Unilateral Free Trade with Mercantilists is like leaving your garage open with your keys and wallet in your unlocked car on the south side of Chicago overnight every night of the year. You are going to get robbed without any doubt.
You describe mutual Free Trade, but nobody but us practice Free Trade.
Long term strategic economic planning is a foreign concept to myopic fools like you.
