Media Coverage of a President at D-Day Commemerations: 50th(1994) vs 75th(today)
Various MSM links returned by googling D-Day ^ | 6/6/2019 | Self

The difference is truly appalling in how the media covered Clinton's vs Trump's visits to Normandy on 6/6/1994 vs 6/6/2019

Late evening 6/6/94 on the Limbaugh TV Show, Rush ran a network news clip from that day showing Clinton slowly walking alone on Omaha Beach, apparently deep in thought.

Suddenly he spotted a number of rocks sitting close together on the sand, and apparently on the spur of the moment, reached down to rearrange the rocks into a Christian cross.

But Rush said, Whoa!! He backed up the clip, then showed later segments, focusing on views of the sandy beach, and said, Look here, and here, and here! There are no other rocks ANYwhere else in the views we have of this beach.

So how come this group of rocks, all about the same size, and the perfect number to make a cross, just happen to be sitting right here in Clinton's pathway? And there's no other rocks in sight?

And how did there happen to be a cameraman in just the right position to follow Clinton and then zoom in on the cross immediately after he made it?

As Rush proved, it was most obviously a scripted moment, colluded in by the MSM and Clinton's staff, to portray the most anti-military President we've ever had in a sympathetic, even heroic, light on a major D-Day anniversary.

Fast forward to today, the 75th anniversary.

I googled "D Day" on my cellphone. Other than two FoxNews articles (which I'm certain google includes only because their algorithms know that I click on more FoxNews articles than all other news sites put together and multiplied by 10), here are the links returned by google in top-to-bottom order:

Hmm! I posted that list from a google-search I ran around 5 hrs ago. But a screen refresh just now shows many changes, implying some MSM outlets have gotten blowback from people they respect:

I'm not saying any of this is surprising or unexpected. I just want to document it here.

There are no rocks sitting close together in Normandy. Another staged Democrat fraud.

Why?

Your observations are duly noted and GREATLY APPRECIATED!

It’s unpatriotic to even suggest this, but the ‘press freedom’ guaranteed by the First Amendment, probably wasn’t referring to the “press” we have today.

Perhaps a constitutional amendment to revise the 1st should be considered???

(Ducking for cover, now)

Because the google results change so fast that they’re gone in a few hours ... or minutes, and no one can duplicate it again.

A few minutes ago CBS Evening news discussed President Trump’s speech and then reported that during a Fox interview, Trump criticized Mueller, a Vietnam veteran.

Odd, you’d think libs would be all in for D-day given that they view the National Socialist German Workers Party as a right wing movement, especially since the invasion was under FDR.

Was there a Dim that came to the cameras to say something good about those that gave up their lives for you and me?

Amazingly enough, someone on CNN said something positive about Trump today. (I believe their TO-DO list requires they do one of these a year, so they can point to it for the next 12 months saying, "See?? This proves we ARE non-partisan. Read it and weep").

Although Google didn't return a link to CNN's positive comment, they did - very very briefly - return a link to a FoxNews article among their top results, that highlighted CNN's comments. The FN article is titled "Hell freezes over as Jim Acosta, Joe Scarborough praise Trump’s D-Day speech".

I did some channel surfing this morning to confirm what I expected, that the Fake News Trump Haters would cover the event in real time at arm’s length.

True to form, CNN covered the playing of National Anthems with several minutes of commercials, long enough to pretend these never happened. When the officer in military garb gave the initial invocation, CNN had a split screen mosaic of the loser panel (Accosta, Ammanpour, Atlanta HQ)with a small live video screen of the event (no event audio) . The banter between these losers was all negative about the Pres and that they expected all the veterans to die soon.

I never did catch up with Mr and Mrs MikaJoe and MSDNC coverage, they were in commercial every time my surfing took me there.

It sure looked like the broadcast equivalent of taking a knee by the CNN loser fake newsers.

"So what?"

Because the changes in Google's presentation of "top relevant articles for the search term 'D-Day'" - changing from virtually-all-negative-of-Trump to instead be mostly-neutral + some-positive-to-Trump, happened over a half-day, and both snapshots of the "before & after" result pages are gone forever. And it's worth preserving. Especially the part re the WaPo changing their extremely nasty article's title a few hours later, and it dropping completely from view as well. The changes imply some amount of blowback that was felt by CNN and Wapo, though apparently not the NYT. In a few days, googling "D-Day" will likely feature its wikipedia article once again in the top 2 or 3 slots, with the TDS articles down below,

Everyone else posting here seemed to like this info, and found it worthwhile. So why don't you take the wet blanket off your shoulders and go throw it in the dryer again?

Thank you!

I wondered if anyone else here remembered that segment from the short-lived Rush Limbaugh TV Show, or even remembered the show at all. I'm surprised he did it as long as he did (3-4 years?) given the tremendous amount of time needed in prep and execution for both radio and TV shows, not to mention the many public appearances he did.

BTW: That's the *ONLY* show that ever inspired me to send $$ in to a PBS station. When they stopped showing it, years before the show ended, my donations also stopped.

I asked why.

Saying it serves no useful purpose would have required a lot fewer keystrokes and kept integrity intact.

“There are no rocks sitting close together in Normandy.”

Well, there are some.

But those rocks have been hewn into crosses and thousands upon thousands of them are lined up in rows and they bear the names of the men who lay beneath them. They were lovingly placed there in the 1940’s by careful workers following more funerals than should ever be counted.

They were not placed there by a craven publicity team in 1994.

I agree with “so what”.

It’s not like we are going to raise a finger about it other than whining.

Let me know when there are gathering crowds at media outlets so that I can join them and take care of the problem.

Wait. We're now discussing _your_ FR posts? I wasn't aware we'd changed topics.

Yup. There sure are. But I think Sasparilla was referring to the rocks on the sandy beach (that Clinton "found"), rather than to rock slabs & crosses in the cemeteries above the beaches.
