That article makes it sound like it downloads the emails by default. Mine are stored on my computer but I don’t remember if I set it up that way or it already was. Regardless, Account Settings >> Synchronization & Storage is where you go and then check off; “Keep all messages in all folders for this account on this computer.”
You’ll know you’ve got it right when you can click File >> Offline >> Work Offline - and still be able to open the emails. OR Disconnect from the internet and still be able to open emails.
prontomail was created in response to google/fb and the rest, shamelessly sharing/selling people’s personal data. It’s fully encrypted and the downfall to that is I can’t use thunderbird for prontomail. Either have to use their webmail(website) or a phone app.
I haven’t doen this myself yet but we have some rainy days coming this week so I think I will.
