Alaska is what is outside of Anchorage.
Anchorage sucks. There's a few nice spots, some good restaurants, but if you like buying crack in the parking lot of Walmart, you'll love Anchorage.
If you ever wanted to move to "the big city" in Alaska, Wasilla or Fairbanks. The former if you want creature comforts, the latter if you want wilderness.
