Silencers are legal to own as long as they’re registered with a tax stamp.

Not everywhere. Tax stamp? Sure he had this one all legal and stuff. Actually, I can’t remember where, but there is a “Silenced Machine Gun” shoot event held. On you tube as well. Anyone? Buehler?

You pay a fee for a permit through the US government, they check your background prior to granting the permit then you take possession of the unit. If he had a legally obtained suppressor.

In Virginia, no. And I have a hard time thinking the suppressor is significant. A "silenced" .45 is pretty noisy. In the old movies they were really silencers but in real life not so much.
