I think MLK’s wife knew he was a monster behind closed doors; much like Hillary, she wanted to keep receiving the benefits of being known as Mrs MLK, and didn’t care how he actually behaved as long as the useful idiots didn’t find wind of it.

This would also explain why, after MLK’s purported killer told them Mrs MLK he didn’t kill MLK, they believed him...

One of my friends in college in the 1960s was the son of a Washington Evening Star columnist. This friend told me about the existence of FBI tapes, widely known among DC insiders like his father, that documented King’s philandering behavior. I don’t know if these are the same tapes, and I didn’t know of the allegation that he witnessed a rape. I do clearly remember being told that one of the tapes had King boasting, “I is the king of the p***y eaters.”
