Don’t you know that they will all be DEAD in ten years, if they fail to give thier freedoms and prosperity to Globalist billionaires, and live like paupers?
THINK OF THE CHILDREN, for God’s sake. Private jets to global warming conferences cost real money, you know.

It is quite amusing to watch our Australian loonie lefty friends losing their minds over this. Almost as amusing as watching their news cimmentators’’ lugubrious expressions when reporting Trump’s win here.

Ralph Klein used to refer to a similar demographic in Alberta as ‘severely normal’ Albertans. Same idea.

It's bad writing -

But in the end, the prime minister confounded expectations suggesting that the country was ready for a change in course after six years of tumultuous leadership under the conservative political coalition.

What they are trying to say (I think) is that there were expectations on the part of many that Australia was ready to change away from its conservative government.

And the Prime Minister confounded those expectations.

The way they've written it can be read as the Prime Minister was suggesting the country was ready for change, which isn't the case.

More of a compulsory registration.

“COMPULSORY VOTING

Australia is one of a few countries that have made voting compulsory, so voter turnout is always high regardless of the level of interest in a campaign. The 91% of eligible voters who cast ballots at the last election in 2016 was the lowest turnout rate since failing to vote became illegal in 1924. Turnout at the previous election in 2013 was 93.2%. Failure to vote without an acceptable excuse attracts a 20 Australian dollar ($14) fine.

Yes, since 2013.

“In the conservatives’ six years in office, Liberal lawmakers have dumped two prime ministers and now have a third who has never faced an election as party leader.

” I’m very excited by this election, more than Brexit, more than Trump. “

REALLY?

Do you realize that the election of Hillary Clinton would have meant the end of the United States as a constitutional republic?
Even without her election, with the treason of deep state Dems and GOPe we are razor thin near that anyway.

According to an Australian who posted here, guns are not as restricted in Australia as we are lead to believe.

“The election had presented Australia, a vital American ally in the Asia-Pacific, with a crucial question: Would it remain on a rightward path and stick with a political coalition that promised economic stability, jobs and cuts to immigration or choose greater action on climate change and income inequality?”

Given those two choices, you’d have to be an absolute moron, or a leftist (I repeat myself) to vote for the latter.

All Trumps election did was delay what’s already being implemented. Resistance is indeed futile.

That’s probably me - yes, while Australia has it’s share of dumb gun laws (such as universal licencing, registration, and pretty significant restrictions on anything seen as a ‘military style’ semi-automatic, or a large calibre handgun (by which they mean larger than .38), law abiding citizens can own a pretty wide variety of firearms. We’re a long way from disarmed - but it gets rather misrepresented overseas.

Will this election make a difference? It’s hard to say - most Australian gun laws are mostly state laws, not Federal (importation is an exception) - so the influence of the Federal government is limited, but the laws are slowly being rolled back in some states and a conservative government is less likely to try and interfere with that process.

What has happened is that the leftist elites embrace of degeneracy and anti-whiteness is starting to bleed off their core voters.

Also it's too late to reverse course, they've allowed too many POC in, whipped them up into anti-white hysteria AND (most importantly) convinced them that they can somehow, not only maintain but actually build a functioning society without whitey.

Yes I think that’s correct.
