I love how they refer to Cortes as a usurper of Mexico and how he killed the indigenous people of America. Besides taking on an empire of millions with an army of hundreds, he also put a stop to the indigenous peoples’ charming custom of ripping the hearts out of living sacrifices.

Whatever his faults, Cortez did God’s work in destroying the Aztecs and subduing Mexico.
