German tanks used radios more effectively didn’t they?

No, he was a SIGNALS officer.

They pioneered use of small FM radios in tanks; no longer did tankers have to guess at one another’s actions, expose themselves to fire while giving harried, crazy hand signals to one another.

Seems obvious now, but...at the time it was revolutionary.

Another vital factor in the success of German Armor was the 3 man turret starting with the Mark III and IV Panzer.

This innovation freed up the tank commander to command, designate targets to a dedicated gunner, and communicate rather than to act as the gunner AND commander.
