Yup. Rain/snow starting tonight in the vicinity and carrying through to next week. They say. Countering the 84 degrees near the Arctic Ocean in Russia the other day with 415 ppm See-Uh-O-2. The highest in human history. Or something. Of course NOT the highest EVER. But it sure sounds like CLIMAGEDDON! doesn’t it?

Down here in Orange County, we’re slated to have rain tonight and tomorrow, but they’ll be getting a lot more up north. Rain in May is rare, but we have occasionally had “winter” storms as late as mid-June.

Fortunately, the new Orville Dam spillway is just about complete anyway. And Folsom Dam has the new auxiliary spillway ready for action. I wouldn't be surprised that the Department of Water Resources orders both dams to increase their water output right now.
Indeed, after the scary debacle in 1997, DWR and the US Bureau of Reclamation have usually opened up dam spillways a lot earlier than usual. After all, during the 2016-2017 winter, the American River through Sacramento, CA held up well, thanks to early water releases to keep the lake levels at safe levels.

Not to mention the Nevada Silver State Classic this weekend Between Lund and Crystal Springs with the “go as fast as you can” running south to north on SR-318. Wet roads could be an issue.

Guess they won’t have to worry about water shortages and rationing anymore.

All weather that happens confirms global warming.
Weather that fails to happen also confirms global warming.

And the state refuses to build reservoirs because “we will never be able to fill them, since drought is the new normal.” Such geniuses.

It started raining here in Oregon yesterday, and temperatures are down 20 degrees from last week.
