The New Orleans Pelicans — not the New York Knicks — will pick first in the 2019 NBA draft and have the opportunity to select Zion Williamson. Additionally, the Los Angeles Lakers moved up to fourth overall, setting Twitter ablaze as the results were revealed on ESPN on Tuesday. The Memphis Grizzlies, who will pick second, summed up everyone’s collective reactions perfectly.

Knicks fans set up at bars around New York City and even held a draft lottery party. But this fan who got a Zion tattoo before the lottery will have to live with disappointment forever as the Knicks were given the third pick.

He'll just have to move to New Orleans.

Cajun Country will be turning into Zionists...

Seriously, this lottery result will cost Zion millions in future revenue. Instead of Broadway, he’s limited to the French Quarter. Instead of mopping up the weak Eastern Conference for the next decade ala Shaq and Lebron, he’ll have to fight his way through the lopsided Western Conference, but, hey, he chose an ACC school. He just needs to think of this as the same thing.

Didn’t seem to cost him a thing. He was all the talking sports faces talked about!

Any bets on him being a contract hold-out? He’ll ask for a one-year contract so he can “one-and-done” the Pellercans, too.

Zion will eventually be a great player; but since he simply cannot handle the ball he will have a tough rookie year.

Or will the Lakers trade the fourth pick to the Pelicans along with players to get AD in Los Angeles with LeBron? Gonna be an interesting free-agent season coming up this summer.

I’m not a big Zion fan. His body type does not age well in basketball. Let the John “Hot Plate” Williams comparisons begin.

Trade LeBron and their pick to the Pelicans for the first pick in the draft. Take Zion and rebuild. LeBron is poison.

That's a name I haven't heard since I don't know when.
