Good for the fans! In Indianapolis there is a restaurant named Acapulco Joe’s, which was founded by Joe Rangle in the 1950’s, a Mexican immigrant who thought he was on a train to Minneapolis! He was so appreciative of the opportunity he found here, that he played Kate Smith’s God Bless America every day, without fail, at noon in the restaurant. If you showed up in a military uniform, your meal was free. He has long since passed, but I’m pretty sure they still play her song at noon every day.
The Mission BBQ chain stops all business at noon every day and honors our nation with the National Anthem. Everyone stands and sings along.
I try to make it a point to be in the restaurant before noon when I’m there for lunch.
Oh, and their smokers are restored Deuce and a half’s https://mission-bbq.com/
