Rep. Liz Cheney could face competition if she decided to run for the Republican nomination for Senate in Wyoming, with former Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis weighing a 2020 bid. Lummis, 64, who retired from Congress in 2016 after four terms, is considering a political comeback in the wake of Republican Sen. Mike Enzi's decision forgo reelection. Republicans close to Lummis said she would not be discouraged from running by Cheney, 52, whose failure so far to say whether she will make the race has otherwise frozen the field of potential candidates. Cheney, Lummis' successor as Wyoming's at-large representative, is the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, a beloved Republican in the state who held that same seat in the 1980s before being tapped as George H.W. Bush's defense secretary. That, and her position as the No. 3 ranking Republican in the House of Representatives, makes her the heavyweight in any potential GOP Senate primary.

Anyone know anything about Lummis? I like Liz Cheney but she has a leadership role in the house and that could be good when we get the house back.
Reality should lead to negotiation on who should run for what seat rather than a dofus campaign leaving one of them out in the pasture.
And that is the only reason chaney was out criticizing the dems in the house today. She hates Trump as much as any dem or ryno, she just wants to be re-elected.
Cheney has barely been in Wyoming any time in her life. She’s just an East Coast carpetbagger who went shopping for a job. She’s about as much from Wyoming, as Hillary is from New York. She’s a first-class neocon, pro-abortion, interventionist, Trump hater and Bush lover. No different than her dad
I’m also beyond tired of hereditary, globalist/uniparty/neocon political seats. That’s not what we’re supposed to be.
I see she had a decent, though not fantastic, 95% rating here:

Cheney’s pretty far down the line on immigration:
https://votesmart.org/interest-group/1985/rating/10255?of=rating#.XNSKZY5KicQ
But Lummis, in a different Congress, actually had a lower immigration score of 71 to Cheney’s 79.
Wouldn’t you think we could get a rock-solid conservative from Wyoming?
They are pretty far from the border so they really dont grasp the problem. Take them down to the border where they can see first hand and talk to the ranchers there.
I’m up in New England and I grasp the problem.
Yes but you are a Freeper, that means you are smart.
Okay, I’d think they could find a rock-solid conservative AND smart pol out there in Wyoming!
