The manager Alex Cora, a critic of the Trump administration’s inexcusable treatment of Puerto Rico amid the devastation of Hurricane Maria in 2017, cited his home island’s continuing troubles as his reason for opting out.

Cora needs to manage in Puerto Rico. He would be happier there. I wonder if he donated his salary to relief their, or encouraged other Puerto Rican players to do so. Nooooo. They know too much about Puerto Rico to do that.
