I think that is just a software input.
Who knows what really goes on.
Unplugging it and stuffing it in a Faraday Cage of some type is more likely to work.

I just asked Alex if it is spying on me and that is what it said.
It does not hear anything interesting in my living space anyhow.
I stream TV with a fiire TV cube, it turns off the TV when I’m not in the room.
So It does spy to some extent.
I have no doubt such an ability could be abused.
So, why do I have it.
I guess it so Jeff soon to be 1/2 his old worth Bozo, can hear me play my guitar and fart, and talk to my wife and dog.
It's not really spying, more like surveillance.

#5 I am sure it is listening as I have seen ads appear on the phone and on my pc after a conversation about the item when talking on the phone. There are also youtube videos showing this. I have google tracking all turned off and the browser cookie files are deleted except those I ant remembered like my log in here and I am still tracked.
BTW anyne know when I can get inexpensive det cord?

If you have a Fire TV Stick, you have Alexa in your house and it is listening. I must have been aware of this in 2016 when I got my first FireTV. My first utterance to Alexa was: “Jeff Bezos can kiss my ass.” I taped over the mic and had no other recordings since.
