Uh, Did You Catch That Starbucks Coffee Cup on Game of Thrones This Week?

Are the White Walkers cloud macchiato folks? Do the Dothraki prefer green tea frappuccinos with extra whip? (Just kidding! The Dothraki are all dead.) Can Danys dragons even consume Pike Place caffeinated blends? Vulture is asking the very important, very relevant questions to start our morning, as this weeks Game of Thrones episode confirmed the presence of Americas favorite (minus New England) coffee chain, Starbucks, in a scene. Its not even that hard to miss, really: If you fast-forward to 17:39 to where Dany, Jon, Tormund, and their merry band of pals are hangin out, a Starbucks coffee cup is clearly visible on a table. Yes, this season took two years to make in a strive for perfection.
[snip]
To add a further layer of hilarity, the shows creators, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff, were also in the scene. Because they can!

I was too busy fast-forwarding through boring and outright embarrassing scenes to catch it.

I've started making a list in my head of pointless characters that nobody cares about or serve no further purpose that they can kill next week so they can keep the "shocking" deaths going. I'm thinking Podrick the squire's in trouble. Probably that Greyworm unsullied dude too.
Jamie, Tyrion, Brienne, Jon, Danaerys, Arya, Sansa, Sam, etc are all, of course, perfectly safe at all times.

The last season was written by a committee. They paid George before he finished the last book. He was too busy buying McMansions to finish it himself. it

I’d like to get that cup. It must be,
what, fifteen hundred years old by now?

More laziness. Last season and this season are completely phoned-in.

Yup. Fast forwarded through all the boring crap. The 3rd episode, with the battles, took me 25 minutes to finish.

They may as well be. Here's how bad the "shocking" deaths are.
SPOILERS AHEAD In most of the recaps from the "everyone is at risk!" battle where only a couple of B list characters actually killed and nobody at all was wounded they all forgot about one of the "shocking" deaths, Melisandra who served no purpose and nobody cared about and thus her shocking death is actually pretty much just forgotten. Just like the other three people who died (well, I liked Jorah but his story was over, he was just filler at this point).

You know what, I did notice it but since the writing has gotten so formulaic over the past two seasons I’m just not that invested in this show anymore. I saw it and noticed it and yet it didn’t even occur to me that it didn’t belong because it feels like they’re mostly just going through the motions now.
