Typical stupid news report does not give us a clue what the odor was. Perhaps smelly cheese?
Decades ago, friend of mine brought some extraordinarily smelly cheese from a NY deli back to Chicago. Stowed it in an overhead. Everyone on board was grossed out but the. plane did not stop nor did the sky fall.
Back inthe mid 80’s I had gone to Cancun for a few days. While on the Beach I found a Big Conch Shell that had a Clam shell attached to it. I brought it back home as Carry On in My bag in the Overhead Bin. Well about halfway to DFW that Clam DIED AND THAT PUPPY STANK NASTY NASTY NASTY!!! I played stupid for the rest of the flight.
Coming through Customs I had everything ready, they looked in My bag, zipped it back up and told Me to GET OUTTA HERE, FAST.
