Supporters say the law will reduce litter in lakes, rivers and coastal waters. It takes effect in 2021. …

It won't. It will just change the litter from one type to another..............

I’m okay with this.

We have trashed this planet. Need to do better. Of course, we are light years ahead of “developing” countries on this, but that’s okay—this is our backyard.

AG Paxton in Texas recently sued several Texas cities over city wide bag bans, siting that it is in violation of the Texas State Constitution. He won and got to send out letters to the cities telling them the good news. Even citizens in hard core liberal Austin have been seen with grins on their faces upon noting the return of the lowly plastic shopping bag.

Austin suffered under the bag ban for 5 years, which in places like grocery stores, is no small thing. For those of us in possession of common sense, it was a huge collective sigh of relief to have it lifted. Most people are not fond of Leftist control.

Before the bag ban took effect, I did often carry a string bag for purchases, but after the ban, I left the thing at home because it felt like I was capitulating to a communist regime to be seen with it. It was more of a matter of principal to me than anything else. It is also nice to have disposable plastic bags to put raw meat in again and keep germs contained.
