GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN -- “I just listen to Donald Trump.”
Erika, a 31-year-old from Green Bay, told me this outside the arena where the president was scheduled to speak-her distrust and disinterest in the press breathtaking.
“The news media stinks,” she spat, insisting she gets all of her information from the president. “He sees it. He walks it. He knows. Trump goes there-he goes to the Texas border and speaks to the people who are working down there. And they’re telling him what’s going on, what’s going wrong, what needs to be fixed. That’s a true president. I wouldn’t listen to nobody else but him.”
For the third year running, the president skipped the White House Correspondents Dinner, opting to spend Saturday evening feeding red meat to his base inside the Resch Center, a 10,000-seat arena in Green Bay, Wisconsin, in the shadow of hallowed Lambeau Field. Trump's sway over many of his most ardent supporters has spawned some of the most vile behavior this country has seen in decades-from encouraging hatred towards immigrants and Muslims to flouting the rule of law-but the timing of this rally also prompts the question of how his constant assault on the press has cascaded down to those making the pilgrimage on Saturday night.

President Trump needs to update his rally speech. He needs to stop talking about Jerusalem stone and talk about what is happening right now. Nobody cares about what happened a year or two ago.

The press in this country is a colossal mess. Journalism died long ago. Most of them get their “news” when Pelosi and Schumer run to the cameras, then barf up whatever those two cretins say ad nauseum. I do have to give credit to Sarah Carter and Kim Strassel (did I get her name right?) Both have been doing a great job, few others worth a flip.
I quit watching ABC NBC & CBS so long ago, I don’t even have socks that old...stopped watching CNN in 2013 when they started claiming Cruz shut down the government...after a few democrats said it of course...
I simply thought about how congress works. Cruz is a senator, right? Right. OK, so how could he shut down the government? By being the one who cast the deciding vote AGAINST the budget bill. But there was no vote. Harry Reid, senate majority leader, tabled it the minute it hit his desk. And democrats immediately, I mean literally in minutes, blamed Cruz...CNN followed shortly. I think it took them about 2 hours. I turned it off never to return. Pissed me off when I had to watch a presidential debate on CNN...
