The reason that dark matter is so mysterious is that it pretty much never does anything, which makes it hard to spot. Dark matter doesnt give off light, or have any sort of magnetic field, and it almost never interacts with normal matter in any way.
Replace “dark matter” with “santa clause” and it’s funnier. :)

You're welcome.

spotted the decay of xenon-124, the rarest event ever recorded in human history.
Sorry, no. A Democrat tax cut plan is the rarest event ever recorded in human history.
Rare because there hasn't been a recorded instance of it. It *could* happen, theoretically since it wouldn't violate causality or conservation laws.

Fascinating. As a non-scientist I will confess that at times I’ve been skeptical whether dark matter exists or if it was invented to make the models work.

Yes, and after all of this time, scientists have made this amazing discovery by spending only a tiny fraction of the tax $$$ they had available to them. Obviously, much more $$$ will be required for further study of this vital phenomenon.
Of course, I could have conducted the study at a very substantial savings of dollars to the poor, overburdened taxpayers!
