ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) The head of the Maryland Transportation Authority has abruptly resigned.
The Washington Post reported Wednesday that no reason for his departure was publicly released.
Kevin C. Reigrut oversaw the states eight toll facilities. He led the 1,700-employee agency since January 2017.

1700 people are needed to collect tolls.
Although my first thought, the agency runs the entire highway system in Maryland. So it includes construction and maintenance personnel.
Yes, it is one of the tricky words.
The article notes that he started in January 2017 so he was appointed by Republican Governor Hogan (unless the board appoints him).
The article also notes that he looks to save Marylanders money:
“Under Reigruts leadership, the authority eliminated a $7.50 fee imposed on new customers of the states E-ZPass program.
Reigrut said it was meant to boost electronic payments as Maryland explored a cashless system.”
A cashless toll system is bad. It encourages foreign truckers to drive through without paying. There is no reciprocal recourse to obtain thier information to send them bills, etc. The head of the Maine Turnpike opposes open road tolling because of this.
Sticky fingers? Typical LIB bum maryland resident who “works” for the g.
Are you being facetious?
Maybe they found some Kate Smith tunes on his iPod.
Ask Hugo Boss.
You think some people’s worlds are not rocked by Kate’s renditions of “That’s Why Darkies are Born” and “Pickaninny Heaven”?
